Separate, evaporate, concentrate or purify by using the superior process of short residence time, at a lower temperature, without degradation of your heat-sensitive material with the wiped film technique. In some cases, the separation efficiency of a single stage wiped film distillation unit is not enough to achieve decent product qualities. In such cases wiped film evaporators combined with a rectification column with several separation stages (theoretical plates) are used to increase the separation efficiency.

Root Science’s Short Path Distillation System is one of a kind, featuring a short path evaporator with an internal condenser and atmospheric discharge arms for producing distillate that ranks top amongst the competition. With short path distillation, a decrease of boiling temperature is obtained by reducing the operating pressure. It is a continuous process with very short residence time. This is great for making large quantities of continuous feed with greater consistency. High evaporation rates allow for more distillate to be captured while the relatively low processing temperatures contributes to the fact that there aren’t any solvents needed to move the extract material through the process. Most importantly, this system will separate cannabis oil into high concentrations of THC and CBD distillates. Flavor and experience are more consumer-centered advantages but for producers, there are many more that come with employing either a short path distillation system or short path wiped film distillation process.
